Ok, you have a webcam, and a computer to control it. Problem is you have to BE IN FRONT OF IT to point it at what you want to see right? Wrong! This article will teach you how to build a robotic webcam that uses a web interface to control it.

Have you recently purchased a SanDisk Cruzer Micro Drive? If you have you of course know that the protective cover sucks to keep on. Taking a Lo-Tech approach to a high tech problem, MrNutz comes through again with a great hardware hack. This article shows you how to "re-make" the SanDisk Cruzer (the way it should have been I think) to keep the protective cover in place.

K
Just wanted to take a quick second and give you all an update.
I-Hacked is gearing up to release some big articles (as promised in the past) but some things have been keeping me busy and you know how that goes, but here is my promise.. I-Hacked is still going to kick off this summer with a bang.. Which brings us to our next contest.
I need designs for Tshirts! I will be attending Blackhat & Defcon 13 this year and need cool tshirts to give away! So here is the deal. Design and submit a Tshirt for I-Hacked.com. If yours is selected you will receive $200 and of course a Tshirt with your design!
($200 is divided for front and back. I hold the right to select one front and one rear, so it is totally possible that two people will receive $100 and a tshirt.)
Design: Can be anything I-Hacked related. Could use our current logo, you could design a new one. Could just be text, could be a nice graphic. Just keep the colors to a minimum. There shouldnt be any more than 3-4 colors in your design. (The reason for this is when you print a tshirt, you can only use so many colors in the screen print) Also, the design must be "printable" on a BLACK TSHIRT, since that is what we will be using.
Submit: Once you have your idea, you can put it on a t-shirt template and submit it by posting it in the forums here. If you are not a member of I-hacked, you can still submit your design by sending it to tshirt@i-hacked.com. Deadline is July 1st, so get on it! *Update: You can submit as many ideas as you want, there is no limit.
Decision: All submissions will be located here, and I will declare a winner by July 22nd. There may be a poll in the forums if it comes down to 2-3 close calls.

The problem: You have a computer, your friend has a
computer, you both have a broadband connection, and you make use of Skype or
like the voice chat in MSN or something like this - And - you're sick and tired
to sit by the computer all the time when you talk. And you might even sit with
one of these ridiculous headset (hmm, yes I also have one) on your head just
because the echo cancellation feature isn't that great in reality.
The Solution: Build a Skype phone out of the old wireless phone you have just laying around |

I recently picked up an '05 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R. It is a 636cc sportbike that
is so much fun to ride that recently all I want to do is take it out.
This thing is a stick of dynamite -- it feels like it is always ready to go
faster than it currently is... And I mean always. However being such an advanced
piece of machinery, you know that it is controlled by tons of electronics --
Yup, we are going to hack my motorcycle.
What we will being doing is converting our North American ECU to Euro Specs.
The 05 has an exhaust valve to control the flow of exhaust to get the most power
possible. However, on US/CDN models they have a thing in there to adjust the
valve at high rpm's to decrease the noise, due to US noise regulations. By adjusting
this valve to we will hopefully give the bike 10-13hp gains on the top end.
This is a free mod, and a 10hp gain for nothing would be amazing! Lets get to
working on the bike.
(* A quick note - I-hacked.com doesn't take any responsibility for what your
about to do. Use this information at your own risk and responsibility.)

Have you ever played Paintball? Let me tell ya.. There is nothing like shooting your buddy about 40,000 times and watching them get pissed. =) Here is a mod that allows your "Halo B" loaders to basically double (if not triple) their speed. |

Using a simple laser pen pointer, a few misc parts, and about 15 minutes, you can make a simple laser communicator that converts a sound source into light that travels across a room, and back into sound with very little quality loss. |
