Welcome to I-Hacked.com
 --------------------------------------------------
Electronics are everywhere, and technology drives pretty much everything we do in today's world. We show you how to take advantage of these electronics to make them faster, give them added features, or to do things they were never intended to do.

We are not a "cracking" site, we are hackers. Our inquisitive nature leads us to find ways of making technology work for us. We do not support unauthorized access into systems, breaking into email systems, or anything of that nature. Please do not email me asking me how to do this type of stuff.

Please enjoy your stay, check out the articles, and submit some of your own. As a community we can share our tips/tricks/and hacks with each other. The I-Hacked.com's "Most Wanted" are articles that we are currently looking for articles to be written about.

Articles are open to the public, however downloads and the forums are restricted to members only. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click here.

Antenna Concepts and Building a "Coffee Can" Antenna
Written by syngress
Tuesday, 08 March 2005

The following is an complete tutorial from the book "Wireless Hacking: Projects for Wi-fi Enthusiasts" by Syngress Publishing.

Whether your wireless system is a simple home office setup or a large-scale outdoor wireless network, the antenna system is the most important, but often most overlooked, aspect of the system. The antenna system is often the “make or break” factor for a successful wireless transmission. Poor antenna selection or design can lead to frustration and intermittent connectivity problems. This translates into poor throughput performance and frustrated wireless users.

In this article, we explore the important issues surrounding antenna selection for any 2.4 or 5 GHz unlicensed wireless system. You’ll get all the information you need to achieve the best performance possible. We’ll examine many types of commercially available antennas, and you’ll see how you can build your own antenna as an alternative, using inexpensive materials from the local hardware store.

Hacking iTunes
Written by hevnsnt
Sunday, 06 March 2005
With the RIAA chasing everyone using P2P apps these days (I-Hacked will soon have an article on how to do this safely) many people are turning to online sites to download music.. Lets say you are after a song that you want really bad, you tried using Google hacking techniques to find it, but for some reason no one is sharing the song you want. You really need this song RIGHT NOW and don't have any way of paying for it (otherwise you would be using AllOfMP3 right?) The following article will show you how to get free music from iTunes using pepsi & paypal tricks. Then we will stick it to them and rip out the DRM (Digital Rights Management) from the files so you can play them on ANY mp3 player.

Ok, lets get some free music from iTunes.

Reducing Laptop Temperatures
Written by Michael Gao
Friday, 04 March 2005

This is a tutorial for the reduction of temperature in your laptop. It involves three main steps and about $20 worth of material. This is much better than the $200+ that a company would charge, especially if your laptop keeps shutting down unexpectedly (thermal shutdown, will be talked about in more detail later).

This article provides an introduction to digital logic, the basis of microcomputer design.  It will teach you the basics of building your own electronics by learning how each component works.  If you are interested in electronics at all, You will want to bookmark this article!

Tuesday, 01 March 2005
Using some firmware hacks it is possilble to turn your old 4x DVD-RW to a brand new Dual Layer 8x DVD-RW. For example, I have a Lite-On 451s that I have been thinking about bannishing to the "hand me down" computer and buying a new dvd burner..  However, using this hack I am able to convert this to a Lite-On 832s.

Before
Model: Lite-On 451s
Type: DVD±RW drive
Read Speed: 40x (CD) / 12x (DVD)
Write Speed: 40x (CD) / 4x (DVD)
Rewrite Speed: 24x (CD) / 2x (DVD-RW) / 4x (DVD+RW)

After
Model: Lite-On 832s
Type: Dual-Layer DVD±RW drive
Read Speed: 40x (CD) / 12x (DVD)
Write Speed: 40x (CD) / 8x (DVD)
Rewrite Speed: 24x (CD) / 4x (DVD-RW) / 4x (DVD+RW)
