Story: Getting around the school webfilter - 2005/01/26 22:59 I have been frustrated for a while about my school's computer settings. First off, they run all internet traffic through squid, which blocks all "bad" webages, disables downloading, and blocks gaming sites. Well, I got tired of this. So, I went to this site and got the address for a proxy on an uncommon port :

Then, under Mozilla's proxy settings, I pluged in my address, and it worked. I am completly bypassing squid. Now I can download the adblock plugin, and generally do whatever. Since we use a combo of neoware thinclients in the labs, and PC's running XP in regular classes, I have to figure out if this will work with IE, the settings are a bit different.

All in all, this is very cool!
