Re:New Hacks? - 2006/01/15 21:48 apparently the sonic i have isn't a full version, but a part version, distributed OEM. i could save and burn .iso images with the full version, but not this one.
damn.
i can copy a disc using just one drive, though, i'll see if i can save the .iso doing that.

Re:New Hacks? - 2006/01/15 22:25 3rd party app is required to burn iso. Usually you can copy all the files off a cd and burn it w/ XP default software(licensed from adaptec easy cd creator) but isn't a true copy. Is your source cd copyright protected? If so you'll need some ripping software like alcohol 120 to get this done. Also you might if sonic is upgradable to full via patch or registration method...negligible d/l time if so

windows/ sonic recordnow/ 2 drives.
i might be able to save the .iso, but it'll have to wait tilli get high speed to send it (hopefully 3 weeks or so). i'll look. is there any way to do it with windows, or a small free program i can get to do it?

For a free utility try http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm

I've never used it but the write up says it'll do what you need. However, if it's going to take three weeks to send the stuff why not send a copy of the disk to someone with high speed access. Or you could try zipping up the separate items and just send a little at a time.

Re:New Hacks? - 2006/01/15 23:03 Found some other options at the UBCD site. Great windows software for free.

And here's a really small iso creator from that site.

LC ISO Creator creates ISO files from CD/DVD-ROM.
