Motherboard Woes - 2007/06/14 05:40 My recently acquired GA-8I945P Gigabyte motherboard doesn't support my Core 2 Duo processor.

I'm working on finding an updated BIOS for it so that it'll support C2D, so if you know anything about an updated BIOS do inform me about it.

If you give me anything that helps I'll give you a cookie (and maby a karma point or 2).

Thanks for your time. ^-^

Re:Motherboard Woes - 2007/06/14 06:55 most of the architecture either supports C2D or doesnt, i dont think there is any bios update that will allow for it.

sorry bro but i think youre gonna have to get a mobo that supports it.

Re:Motherboard Woes - 2007/06/14 20:26 New motherboard on the way...

https://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=245016

Asrock CONROE945PL-GLAN 945PL Core 2 Duo/ Pentium XE/Pentium D/P4/Celeron D 800FSB LGA775 DDR2 ATX Motherboard w/Audio, Gigabit LAN, Serial ATA Retail

This mobo will be easily overclocked and nice to work with. That doesn't change the fact that it costs $80.

I hate spending money.

Re:Motherboard Woes - 2007/06/15 01:22 Lol if anyone wants it...

http://www.pcstats.com/artvnl.cfm?articleID=1830 is the link for most comprehensive overview of the mobo.

The product number is GA-8I945P Pro

It's a GREAT mobo, it just doesn't support Core 2 Duo. It'd be great for those of you who want to make a computer dedicated to heavy processing and such, or if you don't want to spend a fortune you could use it for your main comp.

Edit: It does support Pentium D, for those of you who are too lazy to look at the link.

Shoot me an E-mail at Xios117@Gmail.com

Get back to me if you're interested....
