Here is kind of a psychological reason for having slow parts in the music. In hypnosis there is a term called fractionization which is where you put someone in trance, pull them out, and put them back in. Doing this over and over can make the person go into an even deeper trance. Since music, especially this genre of music, puts a person in a sort of light trance, than having the breaks can create some of the effects of fractionization pulling the person in and out of trance.
So basically, my friend, you are hacking the human mind. lol
DISCLAIMER: I am in no way a hypnotherapist or an expert in any way on this subject. I'm just throwing this information out because I found it interesting.
