Re:Up Yours Verizon - 2007/09/21 20:25 The roaming method worked for me. I first called Cingular/AT&T told them I am not getting good cell coverage when traveling for work and they noted I was having problems on my account. Next I called up different automated phone services that will not hang up on you (moviephone, etc..) and let it go for hours and hours. Two months later they dropped my account because of 7000+ minutes roaming in month But becareful when using this method because I have heard instances where they try to get the customer to pay these roaming costs. I have also heard if you flat out tell them you do not have any money to pay them and are not going to pay for the service anymore they might drop you to save money.

Re:Up Yours Verizon - 2007/09/26 04:02 Actually... if you can find a location that does not get covered by that company... and tell them you are moving there... it is required by the FCC that they release you from contract without any penalties.

Do I need proof or can I just lie about it?

Re:Up Yours Verizon - 2007/09/27 16:56 just say that you are going on a mission trip to Honduras for 14 months and that the area you are going to does not get any cell reception at all.

Re:Up Yours Verizon - 2007/09/28 05:47 well... supposedly there have been cases of both... people lying and getting out of it... and others where people were asked to provide proof... but it's like anything else i suppose. If you talk with the CS rep... and you seem legit, have nothing to hide, and generally seem friendly and reputable, they will do pretty much anything for you. ( I had my phone repaired after a bout a year and a half by the tech at no charge because we started discussing electronics...lmao )

... if you look like you belong... no one will bother you...
