Re:Can Anybody Find A Way to Rip These? - 2008/03/17 19:12 Gracias!

I have found a commercial product for this, but it takes forever to work.

See slapapple.com/techtv....they have 2 torrents of ttv stuff - 50gb...been downloading for weeks.

Re:Can Anybody Find A Way to Rip These? - 2008/03/18 05:41 *smiles* eh... I don't do torrents anymore... not after linkin got "smacked" at a bit. If I really wanted to do them... I suppose I could always spoof my mac address at school... so it's logged to another student's computer... lol!

Re:Can Anybody Find A Way to Rip These? - 2008/03/18 07:53 There are services which download torrents for you and then let you download them via http. Most give a free 10gb, after that you pay..

Or you could buy a virtual private server.

That said, I've discovered a motherlode. It seems that G4 didn't permenently take down the techtv shows from the vault, they just must have removed all references to them from their sites and disallowed access for a while. I have a source, and I know how to use the timecodes...

I'll be able to get hundreds of episodes, from nearly every show. I'll share once I'm done with it, to prevent getting locked out again.

Pretty cool man.

Should you run out of space for the episodes, e-mail me (my username @ i-hacked.com) and I can give a login to my server, I have around 220GB free and I can always add another 160GB. From there we can distribute the episodes to others.

Re:Can Anybody Find A Way to Rip These? - 2008/03/19 08:45 I have plenty of storage also if needed... 380GB without ANY trouble if needed, however, I don't have much of an upload speed.

Re:Can Anybody Find A Way to Rip These? - 2008/03/19 18:59 Thanks for the offers, I'll keep them in mind. The Leoville people already complained about BT being slow. They want a way to stream and/or save them due to space and bandwidth issues.

I would upload to my Dreamhost account where I have 250gb (only using 200mb or so lol), and 5TB of bandwidth a month, but I don't know if that would cut it if it ever got Dugg or slashdotted. I'm using 15gb as it is....which is tiny compared to my max.

Right now, I'm estimating it will only be around 60gb max for everything, as the files I have found in the vault are all at best encoded for 56k dialup users. 15-20mb per episode (crappy quality, but it's all we have).

But I'd love to hear what you want to do. It may be smart to password protect these if we do share them, and I can then torrent them too...we'd need some way of dealing with bandwidth.
