Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/03 23:20 Yea I fiddled until my head exploded and couldn't get the thing to flash. I kept getting as far as "Device not found".

Surbo, I'll be sure to do that. Thanks.

EDIT: Ok quick question, does this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816132012

Have to plug into an IDE port for it to work? Because, my comp doesn't have IDE ports. Its strictly an SATA system. Also, would this work with flashing the drive since I'm getting that ugly "Device Not Found" error?

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/06 01:38 Ok, before I go and spend more money on this thing, I'll see if I can pick your brain a bit. I have the ICH8 sata controller, and the drive is a Samsung 943a with the 25 firmware. I've tried just about everything I can think of including using the /sata command, making sure its plugged into sata0 port, turning off the RAID support, and I'm just about at a loss. I'd try to patch the MTKFLASH but whenever i use the MSINFO32.EXE I get this message: "Cannot access the Windows Management Instrumentation software. Windows Management files may be moved or missing."

Evil...

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/06 03:02 are you trying to access it under windows or dos?

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/06 04:03 Dos naturally.

I did manage to fix the problem with msinfo32 (a security error with permissions) so I managed to HEX edit the MTKFLASH program. Still no luck. Although now I can use iPrep without any errors. So I created a boot disk with that. Still no luck. I've tried up down and sideways and I can't figure it out. Its really starting to drive me nuts.

EDIT: This is my info for my SCSI:

Name Intel(R) ICH8R/ICH9R SATA RAID Controller

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/06 06:25 try extreme boot maker. It should recognize your card and do the hex for ya. It can also make a bootable usb
