Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/04/30 15:00 I bought a 3rrod XBOX 360 off ebay and bought all the stuff to fix it with. I've wanted one for a while but I'm too cheap to pay full price.

I'll let you know if it works or not. Here's hoping to jam rock band in the near future.

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/03 17:07 Heck yea! I fixed it! whooooo! You guys kick butt!

I actually ended up with two Xbox 360's. One's warranty label is broken, so I fixed it. The other, I traded a PPC-6700 (old cell phone) for. Its warranty label is intact so I registered the serial under my name with Microsuck and they're sending me a box to send them this one in so they can fix it for free. Joy.

Problem I'm having with this other one though, the one I fixed, is that someone didn't know what they were doing with the DVD-ROM drive. First I found that all the ribbon cables had been disconnected from its main board. Then once I got it working I found that it'll play DVD's but not the games themselves. I get that stupid, "you must put this in an xbox360 to play" so now I'm going to have to try to rewrite the firmware.

Sometimes... being cheap is hard.

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/03 18:37 John - if you could make a metacafe account and post "Heck yea! I fixed it! whooooo! You guys kick butt! " as a comment that would be nice =)

If there is time maybe also rate the video

plus if you need any help with the firmware fix - I am sure I could help ya out.
