Unlocking phones? - 2010/03/18 23:46 I recently bought a cell phone on e-bay, Sony Ericsson w580i. This phone seems to have a personal lock code on it. Not the subsidy unlock code!
This phone was legally bought but the seller was somewhat when she said the phone was locked!

This phone runs on at&t, when I put my at&t sim card in it I get a message saying please insert unlock code. I do not have the original number. I have a feeling I need to re-install the platform operating system so I can re-flash it but I don't know where to get the software or where to even begin.

Can somebody please point me in the right direction?

PS.

I tried calling Sony Ericsson and they said they would fix it for $135.
So, that's not an option.
