Facebook and Microsoft... - 2009/06/20 08:20
Apparently, facebook and microsoft have "teamed" up to allow you to import your email contacts into facebook. That is just wonderful except for one thing. Upon doing some various tests, this information disclosure is not voluntary.
My facebook and email use completely separate and different passwords, however from the email address that you used to register a facebook, they don't mind going through your stuff. I know this because I had an email in my inbox from a member here at i-hacked. I have never typed their name in on facebook at all, but for some strange reason, it suggested this person to be added as a friend.
So, from what I have seen, microsoft has given them trusted access to at least one database (but there is no telling how many or what other info they may be passing along.) I am contacting them about this violation of their terms of service.
