Cinego D-1000 USB Port - 2006/01/18 11:51 This is about the Cinego D-1000, available at RadioShack:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?parentPage=search&cp=&productId=2104751&kw=1605000&tab=summary

Beneath the unit there is a rubber flap that exposes a mini-USB (known as type -B ) connector, typical of MP3 players and digital cameras.

Is this connector typical with any other DVD players or projectors? Anyone know the use of this?

I think I am going to try to connect one of the projectors to a PC with a standard USB cable. I doubt anything will happen without any specialized software, though.

Re:Cinego D-1000 USB Port - 2006/01/19 00:51 Plugging it into a PC via a USB cord does nothing. The PC doesn't even recognize any type of hardware being attached.

Re:Cinego D-1000 USB Port - 2006/01/19 22:14 You probably need to create your own drivers even though you may get lucky and find someone who already has, but i doubt you will.

but hey, it was worth a try anyway, right.

Re:Cinego D-1000 USB Port - 2006/01/19 23:05 It's probably just in case you wanted to use it as a dvd player because some HDTVs have 4 pin USB Type A connection such as the Hitachi 42HDT52.

I don't believe a driver will work because the PC has absolutely NO response to the device being connected. If it were a driver requirement, the PC should still inform me of an unknown device being connected.
