Re:Project DSLinux: Planning in Progress - 2004/11/04 00:27
Thanks to HotStuff2 @ FW forums
All prices are $149.99 (MSRP) unless noted.
The list so far is:
* WalMart, $169.64 (bundle only) - LINK - Includes the Intec Starter Kit nintendo DS, which is Intec's Game Buds earphones, Safe Screen protection films and Road Power vehicle power adaptor ($14.99 value) - Subtract the $14.99 "value" and the DS itself costs $154.64 - without tax - so it's $5 more expensive at WalMart than anywhere else. Buy the console by itself and pick the Intec kit up in-store if you really want it, and save yourself the $5 + tax.
* EBgames - LINK - UPDATE: 3-day free shipping code for EBgames: SHIP3DAY - In-store pickup available (no waiting 3 days for shipping) - but will there be a mad rush for them? Will the store hold the pre-orders? - LINK to discussion thread
* Amazon - LINK - Not available YET (no pre-order) but shows on their site as OOS.
* Buy.com - LINK - $10 off $75 coupon - thanks to dealmaster00! **VERIFIED WORKING** - coupon makes this the cheapest, at $139.99 + shipping (no tax for most) - possible to combine free shipping code?
* Circuit City - LINK - Free shipping - Price shows $149.99 after "$50 instant discount"?
* Fry's Outpost.com - EARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG" target="_blank">LINK
* GameStop.com - LINK
I am probably going to cancel my order @ WM, unless they refund shipping fees as well. In which case I'll probably order it somewhere else as well, to make sure I get at least one, then return the WM order.
edit: Just pre-ordered it from EBgames.com, using the free 3-day shipping code. Total came to $159.96, $31.12 less than the WalMart.com pre-order! Heck, I can still buy the Intec Starter Kit (probably won't, don't really want it) for $14.99 + $1.05 tax and this will have saved me $16.04. I'm definately cancelling the WM order - I'd rather pre-order it again from CC with free shipping (I'm ordering two just to make sure I get one, *just* in case one or the other pre-sells too many and has a back-log of orders and not enough DS systems to go around.)
edit: added GameStop.com link, removed prices since everyone is selling it for $149.99 (MSRP) except WalMart.com's "forced bundle" which is over-priced.
update: I'm ordering from Buy.com using the $10 code, so it comes to $139.99 + $5.78 shipping = $145.77 - $14.19 less than EBgames.com, and $45.31 less than the WalMart.com bundle!
