Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/21 02:43 nope, watched him do it. matter of fact, did it myself. Don't know why it works or how but it plays the game just fine.

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/23 09:26 ... I haven't stayed up on the 360 hacking... but is the dvd drive key just used in a hash for submitting to xbox live?(to make sure you didn't mod your drive) or does it lock it to the motherboard(similar to hd and xbox mobo)?

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/23 15:57 See, I was under the impression that the key was synced with the mobo and it had to be correct in order for the mobo to recognize the drive. So now I'm not sure what the case is with the whole Key thing. Maybe it is only used for LIVE. I'm not sure. I'd test but the units have been sold already. I'll have to wait on a new one.

P.S. With all the units I've fixed and sold, and units I've repaired for others, thanks to P!nk Thr3@t, I've bought an HDTV, and am using some of the funds to buy more units. Thank you for that amazing tutorial.

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/05/28 01:29 Well, all I can say is that I know for a 100% fact that in the original xbox, they were using various bits of information to lock your hard drive to your motherboard. So either way... it is possible.

Re:RRoD Fix - 2008/06/17 00:04 Well, I'm not sure if this is 100% effective - I've tried twice now and still no dice. How long am I supposed to let it overheat? Because I let it sit for ten minutes and the heatsinks never got hot. Reply would be appreciated.
