in need of help! - 2007/08/18 00:21
Ok... i'll do my best to explain as much of this as i can...
my friend sent me weird files on msn, i didnt know what was going on. i accepted but cancelled when i realized it was a virus. i couldnt delete the file, and then reset my computer because it was frozen.
and now i cant turn it back on, no BIOS, no POST, it's like the power button isnt even connected
one friend seems to think it's either a blown part or a "BIOS Bomb" virus.
System Info:
Asus P5WD2-E Premium
2GB Micron RAM
Intel Pentium D 805 2.66 GHz (Overclocked to 3.2)
Sapphire Radeon X1900XT 512MB
I have tried:
clearing CMOS
power cycle
try to boot with only vid card
test psu (it works)
shorting out power pins on mobo (in case of dead power switch)
i was told it was likely that the virus was VUNDO, which is a major MSN virus... but it doesnt seem to fit the symptoms
if you can provide any thoughts at all please do. from what i hear this can be anyhting from a dead part to a Bios Bomb that killed everything in my computer.
