You may have read our article on finding and using anonymous proxies. In this article we used a windows box to find and check proxies.  Member my_haz (Finding Mp3's with Google) has released a new tool, a python based proxy checker.

A muti-threaded proxy checker written in python meant to be used on *nix systems. Checks a list of HTTP proxies against external proxy judges for a set of interesting parameters. It attempts to determine if the proxy is anonymous, not anonymouse, gateway, or down. It also returns binary results for Variable HTTP_X_FORWARD_FOR, HTTP_VIA, and HTTP_PROXY_CONNECTION.

Members can download it here.
