 In my last guide, I
showed how to increase the life of the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2300 laser
printer’s (and other printers that use the same) cartridges. In this guide, as
I promised in my last, I will show you how to reuse the drum cartridge forever.
These cost $300 to replace. Minolta really is screwing us on this one.
Step one: Find these little contacts
Step two: Get a 250V fuse from your stash and replace the one in the cartridge, underneath the contacts (sorry about the fuzzy pic). DONE!
Another strange thing is that the contacts for the fuse don’t even connect to any chip on the drum. Minolta’s software just waits until the fuse fries. Then, your drum is (not really) bad. That way, they can charge you $300 for a “new” drum, and they get your old one to “refurbish” (not much involved there…take it a part, clean it, replace fuse…) Then, they sell it to some other person. What a ripoff. Not anymore!
