Secure the SanDisk Cruzer Micro Drive Protective Case |

 Have you recently purchased a SanDisk Cruzer Micro Drive? If you have you of course know that the protective cover sucks to keep on. Taking a Lo-Tech approach to a high tech problem, MrNutz comes through again with a great hardware hack. This article shows you how to "re-make" the SanDisk Cruzer (the way it should have been I think) to keep the protective cover in place.
Parts Required:
- Drill
- Elastic string - Taken from shirt tag holder
- Dremel - Optional
1. Drill a hole at the end of the case about the same diameter as the elastic string. The hole should be directly in the center of each side of the case.
2. Run the elastic string through the holes.
3. Use your dremel (or drill) to "notch" the end of the case. This will keep the string straight and from slipping off the side of the case.
4. Drill a small hole through the top of the flash drive on each side of the keyring holder. Run the elastic string into the first hole and tie a knot
Then run the other end of the string into the second hole so they meet in the middle. Pull the string tight before tying a knot on this end. -Also, make sure that the string will stretch enough to allow the drive to be removed from the case.
(BTW, I used a lighter to melt the excess ends of the string - Don't touch the flame to the string, just put it close.)
