Replacing the EPA Bios Logo

In AMIBIOS

!!!WARNING!!!: Don't use AMI Win SFI when you have an ASRock K7S8X/K7S8XE! The Win Flash program is NOT compatible with this board! It will DESTROY your BIOS without any warning!!! (when you use it, the program will say the flash went 100% ok, but your BIOS is COMPLETELY CORRUPTED!!!) Maybe you think: "If I skip the Boot Block programming, the BIOS can't be completely corrupted…" but this won't work with AMI Win Flash! It will corrupt your Boot Block ANY WAY!!! ______________________________________________________________

How to modify BIOS logo's:

1. The EPA Logo in AMIBIOS Here is a picture of an AMIBIOS:

The "Energy Star" logo in the upper right corner of the screen can be changed (you need AMIBCP):
1. Open the BIOS file that you want to modify with AMIBCP.
2. Go to the "Edit BIOS Modules" menu.
3. Look for "31 EPA / OEM Logo".
4. Press [DEL] to delete the original logo. After deleting the original logo, press [INS] to insert your new logo (it must be a 16 colour PCX-file, max 148x480 pixels) and type the name of your logo and press [ENTER]. Set "Compressed" to "Yes" and save BIOS module changes.
5. Go back to the previous menu and save your modified BIOS file.
6. Flash your BIOS and the next system boot you should see your new logo.

2. The Full Screen Logo in AMIBIOS It works the same as replacing the EPA Logo but now you have to look for "33 Full Screen Logo". You can use PCX-files up to 8 bit (256 col) or JPEG-files up to 24 bit* (16,7 Mcol). All files have a max. res. of 640x480 pixels. *This will only work in AMIBIOS v7.XX or newer.

3. The EPA Logo in Award BIOS v4.50, v4.51, v4.60, v6.00, v6.02 (NOT FOR THE "Award Medallion BIOS"!!!) Here is a picture of an Award BIOS:

The "Energy Star" logo in the upper right corner of the screen can be changed (you need CBROM):
1. Type at the command prompt: "CBROM [your BIOS.BIN] /EPA [your EPA Logo.BMP]" Example: CBROM215 P4800P9.BIN /EPA NEWEPA.BMP (the BMP-file must be max. 16 colours and max. 160x480)
2. Save your modified BIOS file.
3. Flash your BIOS file and the next time the system boots you should see your new logo.

4. The Full Screen Logo in Award BIOS v4.50, v4.51, v4.60, v6.00, v6.02 (NOT FOR THE "Award Medallion BIOS"!!!) Type at the command prompt: "CBROM [your BIOS.BIN] /Logo [your Logo.BMP]" Example: CBROM215 P4800P9.BIN /LOGO NEWLOGO.BMP The BMP-file must be max. 16 colours (for Award 4.50) or 256 colours (for newer versions than 4.50) and max. 640x480 pixels (640x464 if you want the default BIOS message to be displayed: "Press TAB to show POST-screen, DEL to enter Setup"). Save and flash your modified BIOS file and the next system boot you should see your new logo.
