Several of us from Cowtown Computer Congress met Seth at the future site of the hacker space today. It's Just across the river and a few miles north from the downtown loop, in North KC near 17th Ave and Locust. Keep reading for more information and an exclusive first look.
The surrounding area is teeming with life. Several bars, dining
establishments, a machinery store and (very important) an ACE Hardware
are all a stone's throw away. A nearby health club may provide members
of this project with a place to shower and change after a long night of
soldering or coding.

The
incubator project that is helping to host the space should in due time
house other amenities: a coffee shop, shared restroom facilities,
social space and communal conference rooms. The potential is great, and
the canvas laid before us has more potential than any of us can
imagine...
Frogman from HiR Information Report, leading the way. This building is huge, and the warehouse space is going to be used by many.

The facilities are a patchwork of present-meets-past. A modern, high-bandwidth demarc from our provider:
Another demarc found in the area we'll be occupying:

Several CCCKC Members in the loading dock area. This is probably a common-access area for all incubator participants.

We
won't likely need to use these docks, though... because we will have
our own private loading dock entry direct from the outside of the
building! This is simply awesome!

There are a ton of details to work out, but it appears our section of
space will be between 800 and 1200 Sq. Ft. We won't really know until
we get blueprints. Brainstorming happened. Walls were going up and
pieces were coming together in our mind's eye. It's rough around the
edges, but it sure is beautiful!
