Welcome to I-Hacked.com
 --------------------------------------------------
Electronics are everywhere, and technology drives pretty much everything we do in today's world. We show you how to take advantage of these electronics to make them faster, give them added features, or to do things they were never intended to do.

We are not a "cracking" site, we are hackers. Our inquisitive nature leads us to find ways of making technology work for us. We do not support unauthorized access into systems, breaking into email systems, or anything of that nature. Please do not email me asking me how to do this type of stuff.

Please enjoy your stay, check out the articles, and submit some of your own. As a community we can share our tips/tricks/and hacks with each other. The I-Hacked.com's "Most Wanted" are articles that we are currently looking for articles to be written about.

Articles are open to the public, however downloads and the forums are restricted to members only. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click here.

Installing Backtrack3 on an Eee PC
Written by hevnsnt
Monday, 28 January 2008
The Asus Eee PC.  A palm-sized 900Mhz computer that includes a 4Gb Solid state hard drive.  Now consider the fact that this beautiful machine includes an Atheros-Chipset based wificard that supports injection, and has 3 USB 2.0 ports.  You have the perfect hack-top.  The only thing that could make it better is to match this great hack-top with a great Hack-OS.

BackTrack is the top rated linux live distribution focused on penetration testing, and supports the Eee PC natively.

**UPDATE**
This tutorial will walk you though the installation of BackTrack 3.0 (FINAL) onto the Eee PC. This is the first of many tutorials using this great platform!

Sneaking lockpicks past the TSA in carry-on luggage
Written by ax0n
Monday, 11 August 2008
Picture this: You've got a flight to Vegas.  Your craptastic airline just started charging cash for ALL checked luggage, and you planned on traveling light anyways.  Your goal: participate in the lock-picking festivities at DefCon 16.  The problem? Lockpicks are not only sharpened metal, but illegal to just carry around with you all over the place.  They'd probably be okay in checked luggage, but as such, tucking them into a pocket of your carry-on bag and hoping for the best sounds like a good way to get a full cavity search by some under-paid TSA noobtard, if not arrested.

Defcon16, RM208 Saturday Night. Be There
Written by hevnsnt
Monday, 21 July 2008
Defcon Logo Details are still emerging but I wanted to give i-hacked readers the heads up.

Once again, the organizers of Defcon have graciously given me the opportunity to use one of their skyboxes during the conference.  We want to make sure that everyone at Defcon has a great time so this is what you have to look forward to:

During the day, I-Hacked will be hosting the Podcasters Meetup (http://www.podcastersmeetup.com)
The Podcasters Meetup is a time and place for podcasters to meet each other, discuss current topics, and will be a private place that can be used to record their own "private" shows.

During the afternoon, I-Hacked along with the Podcasters Meetup crew will open the doors allowing for you to meet and greet some of your favorite podcasters, and of course do a live podcast right from Defcon16!  Be a part of history -- who knows there might be some special guests making some appearances. =)

Party all night:  Did you hear?  The Ninja Network party has been canceled.  Trust me I am disappointed too. =(  But we will do our best to fill that void.  We are bringing multiple DJ's (including Great Scott!) from around the world to battle, plus in true I-Hacked fashion plan to have some cool toys to play with.  THIS PARTY IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, but you might want to keep your eyes out for I-Hacked badges.

Where: The Riviera Hotel and Casino, Skybox Room 208 -- Next to the Hardware Hacking Village (MAP HERE
When: The Meet & Greet starts 7:00pm, Live show starts at 8:00, and party starts PROMPTLY after that. All times are subject to change.

Special Thanks to our Sponsors: Astaro,  and Accu Laser Engraving.
If you would like to sponsor this event (including the Podcaster Meetup) please contact sponsors@i-hacked.com

Duplicating a key from only a picture
Written by Deviant Ollam
Thursday, 08 May 2008
Picture this, You spot a keyring laying on a desk. You for whatever reason would really like a copy of that key.  Your ninja-like reflexes kick in as you fling a quarter out of your pocket next to the key. Slyly, you use nothing more than a cell phone camera, to quickly snap a picture of these items.

Nobody noticed this because you are a ninja, however there are plenty of ways for "normals" to make that action next to unnoticeable. Even leaving the quarter there afterwards may not raise much suspicion. Hell, Someone may even pocket it without batting an eye.

Using the process outlined below, you can now duplicate this key for your own use!

Xbox360 3 Rings of Death FIX
Written by P!nk Thr3@t
Wednesday, 23 April 2008
In today's video, P!nk Thr3@t shows the boys how to fix the Xbox 360 3 Red Rings of Death (3 rrod). This is the full blown deal,  No need to buy any products or waste your time on the hokey "towel fix".

Generally, the 3rrod error is caused by a solder problem, where points on the GPU/CPU have worked loose – or a temperature problem causing the same result.  Following this guide, you should be able to fix these joints, quickly and easily!  We have used this process to repair over 10 Xbox360s successfully.

The Wifi Predator
Written by hevnsnt
Monday, 14 April 2008
Picture this: You find yourself sitting in a hotel room that does not offer wireless internet...  As you look out the window, you spot that the three hotels & a Starbucks across the street advertising "Free Wireless Internet" -- if only you had known this when you booked!  You fire up your wireless card, but the signal just is to weak to keep a consistent connection.  What are you going to do?

Enter “The Predator”.

The predator is a modified wireless router connected to a high-powered antenna and running custom firmware to actively seek out open wireless connections.  Once they are found, it will test them for internet connectivity and then join and repeat the one with the strongest signal to secured wireless connection that YOU control. =)

*Note: It is illegal to use a wireless access point that you are not authorized to use.
